SOUTH AFRICAN CROONER PERFORMS TO BENEFIT CENTURION HOSPICE
The Centurion Hospice is celebrating level 2 lockdown with an exclusive long-table dinner complemented with estate wine and the classical crooning of the celebrated singer Tobi Jooste.
Events were always the backbone of NGO’s fundraising efforts, but due to COVID-19 all fundraising occasions were cancelled. The Centurion Hospice hosted a few online events – but nothing (not even virtual-stay-in-bed concerts) beats the company of friends and family enjoying good food and wine whilst listening to the soulful songs of an on-stage-singer.
“A starlight serenade is the first of many long-table dinners,” says Annette Reed, the general manager of the Centurion Hospice. “Aligning our efforts with wonderful artists like Tobi Jooste and the talented Paule-Henry is just so special. I believe that more intimate events focused on a like-minded audience are the future of fundraising. Loyal supporters that identify with the work we do, are more precious than gold.”
The Centurion Hospice will adhere to the fifty-person rule as stipulated by government. For this reason, only 30 tickets are available to the public.
“We want people to dress in their best outfits,” says Jooste, who is always perfectly groomed and impeccably dressed. “I have experienced the loss of a loved one through cancer and therefore, I want to make this evening more spectacular.”
Chef Paule-Henry Botha, who is famed for his exquisite presentations and special deserts, will lay a table to die for.
Funds are needed in support of the re-opening of the in-patient unit that will provide 14 beds for patients with life- limiting and life-threatening illness who need care in their most vulnerable and often final stages of life. The Centurion Hospice welcomes all patients without consideration of their ability to pay. Our efforts are limited only by our funds.
A starlight serenade takes place on Saturday, 3 October 2020 from 16:00 at the Strawberry Moose (the brand-new coffee shop and bakery at the premises of the Centurion Hospice). Tickets are R900 per couple or R450 per person and it includes wine, soft drinks, a five-course meal, and entertainment.
All funds are going towards the Centurion Hospice.
